Why .mom?

A referral should become a relationship that keeps giving.

Refer someone to Pear and, while the program remains eligible, you can earn half of Pear's net commission actually received from that relationship.

Many people will arrive without a referrer. Their future referral share is recorded in an unassigned mom pool. Our aim is to give those relationships to qualifying mothers in developing countries who pledge to care for as many people as they can. Be a mom to people—not only a title, but a way of showing up.

The mom program is planned and will launch only with transparent eligibility, fraud, tax, payout and governance rules.

The idea, and the moat

Neutral rails are hard to route around.

AI companies can build commerce themselves, and some will. Pear is useful because it is not tied to one AI or one storefront: a common layer that helps merchants become purchasable across conversations.

More participating merchants make Pear more useful to AI clients; more supported clients make Pear more valuable to merchants. The defensibility is the network, trusted buyer relationships and broad execution—not a claim that any platform owes us distribution.

An early conversation with AI helped the founder decide to pursue Pear. It inspired the strategy; it is not an endorsement.

Why is that my shield?

First, because you're not tied to any one AI ecosystem. You are the neutral layer that works everywhere.

Second, network density. If enough merchants are on your rail, AI platforms have an incentive to support you instead of building dozens of one-off integrations.

The economics

Won't a 13% commission make things more expensive?

Our thesis is that performance-based discovery can replace some expensive customer acquisition.

Today, many merchants pay heavily for ads before a customer ever buys—and often lose money acquiring that first order. Pear charges only when an attributed sale succeeds. Better discovery can replace part of that advertising cost, helping more merchants stay profitable and compete on the product rather than the ad budget.

That does not promise every item will be cheaper. Sellers set their prices, Pear ranks comparable offers on relevance and buyer value, and the human always sees the complete total before deciding.

The standard merchant commission is 13% of merchandise after discounts, excluding shipping and tax. Half of Pear's net cash commission can flow to the eligible referrer after settlement, refunds and fees.

When no merchant has the match

A disclosed fallback, not the destination.

Pear searches participating merchants first. If none can meet the request, it may quote an authorized supplier product from the Pear fallback store. In that case Pear is clearly named as the seller and merchant of record.

Before live fallback quoting is enabled, every candidate will be verified for price, stock, shipping and supplier authorization. High-risk and regulated categories are excluded at launch.
