Privacy Policy

Pear is operated by things 'n' artefacts, a Danish business, CVR 27542352 ("Pear", "we", "us"). We are the controller of personal information processed for the purposes described here. Contact us at people@pear.mom.

This policy covers pear.mom, our quiz, optional offer email membership, and Pear's app on Facebook. It also describes information handled when you contact us or use restricted account and creator features.

1. Information we collect and why

Quiz choices describe interests, not a medical assessment or financial profile. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in messages or creator scripts.

2. Pear on Facebook

Pear also runs as an app on Facebook. This policy applies to information Pear receives through that app as well as through our website. Using Pear through Facebook does not by itself mean that Pear receives your Facebook password, private messages, friends list or all of your profile information.

If you connect a Facebook feature that requests access to account information, Facebook's permission screen identifies the information and permissions requested. Any information you authorize Facebook to share is used to provide that connected feature, maintain security and respond to your requests. We do not request your Facebook password. The public website quiz does not require Facebook login.

Facebook and Meta process information about use of their own services under the Meta Privacy Policy. You can manage or remove Pear's access in Facebook's Apps and Websites settings. Removing access stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete information already provided to Pear; you can request deletion below.

3. Legal grounds

We rely on your consent for optional marketing emails and any processing that legally requires consent. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving Pear for limited service analytics and security, balanced against your rights. We process requests and account information as needed to provide services you request, and retain information where required by law.

4. Providers, affiliate links and sharing

Netlify provides website hosting, form submission storage and analytics storage. Service providers may process information on our behalf as needed to operate Pear. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in a business transfer subject to applicable privacy protections. We do not sell your email address or Facebook account information.

Offers link to independent websites, sometimes through an affiliate tracking or redirect service. We may receive a commission if you buy or take a qualifying action. After you follow a link, the destination and redirect providers may collect technical data and use cookies under their own policies. Pear's email signup does not automatically subscribe you to a merchant's email list.

5. Storage, retention and international transfers

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including maintaining an active subscription, responding to requests, security, and legal obligations. If you unsubscribe, we stop marketing to you and may retain a limited suppression record to respect that choice and evidence of consent where needed. Retention depends on the type of information and applicable obligations; it is not a promise that all records are automatically deleted after a fixed period.

Our providers may process information outside Denmark and the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers must rely on an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. We use access controls and other reasonable security measures, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights and data deletion

To request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, object to processing, withdraw consent, or unsubscribe, email people@pear.mom. Marketing emails should also provide an unsubscribe option. You do not need a Pear account to make a request.

Facebook app data deletion: email us with the subject “Facebook data deletion” and identify the email or Facebook app account associated with Pear so we can locate the relevant records. Do not send your Facebook password or identity documents unless we separately establish a necessary, secure verification method. We will confirm the outcome of your request, including any information we must retain and why.

We may ask for proportionate verification before disclosing or deleting information. We respond without undue delay, normally within one month; if the law permits an extension, we explain it. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or claims. Because funnel events are not linked to an email or persistent account identifier, we may be unable to identify individual events as yours.

You may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or your local supervisory authority. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law.

7. Children

Pear is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Pear changes. We publish the revised date on this page and provide additional notice or seek consent where legally required. For privacy questions, contact things 'n' artefacts, CVR 27542352, at people@pear.mom.
